Two People by Fire

we were just two strangers sitting by the fire
discussing the aspects of our different futures
my stolen dreams and how you were stripped of them too
we cured each other till waves drifted us away

in november's fog covered roads
we walked side by side and our shoulder's brushed
you saved me till the candle you lit could last
and i was left again on the same road, with same scars

The Art Room

In the school's art room
when no one was around
i sat, forlorn by my own grief
as a way to escape my pain

november had already broken my bones
my letters remained ignored
so i sat, and watched a friend paint
marking the beginning of something fleeting

This is one of my favorite poems in this series. It is simple yet carries a very deep meaning which is finding solace amidst the war you are fighting with your demons. It is about a friend (we barely talked like friends) that i would sit and watch paint. None of us were arts student. So i guess even for him it was a place he could escape to. But little did i knew, it was the start of something fleeting which would forever remain unspoken. There is a feeling of tragedy in this story, which inspired me to go beyond and write a short film script and songs about this story.

Looking at Stars

just looking at the stars
my curiosity reaches its high and
tells me to fly through them

i will enter the interstellar space-
a place between the stars
that will send me love for coming trillions of miles apart

the love which is different
from the one that you get on your planet
where bodies are buried everywhere and ashes in the soil

the love which is different
that will never hurt you and
one can dream of it after death

just looking at the stars
makes me want to fly through them
for once i can't wait for everything to end

About this poem
Written on- February 9, 2024
This poem has been sitting in my drafts for over a year now and i never tried to finish it until today. I had to edit some lines to match the setting of this poem. This poem is about escapism, the kind of escapism one can have through death where i feel like their soul will fly through the stars. Whenever i look at the sky, this has always been my wish.

Ravishing Summer Morning

waking up in the morning
to find bright light on the face,
there are birds chirping near the window
and in the next scene water dripping from the faucet

the silence i feel in the countryside feels
bigger than the world out there lying-
awaiting for me to step outside
and nothing else but to watch buildings?

ravishing summer morning,
a reminder to go out and
play by the river or
spend the whole season listening to music

About this Poem

This poem is my idea of a perfect summer, well not perfect to be exact. However, this is based on an image in my head. Its perfect for somebody like me who lives in the countryside, far from the sea shores or the Himalayas that sits far in the north. I wrote this poem last year however some lines were different than this one and i was unable to finish it because i was stuck on the idea of what i really think a perfect summer. So instead of being relatable, i chose to write my version of summer is. Summer is long gone in my region and currently its monsoon (rainy) season but i don't want this poem to sit in the drafts for another year.

Happy But Envious

my world surrounded by gray clouds
a moment’s happiness is all i seek
my heart covered in magoa
a affectionate touch is all I need

i want his life
not jealous but rather envious
judged by the divine power
my latibule lies in his world

This poem is about someone who i had an frenemy relationship in the school but right now we are both cool, even though not that close. But the muse behind this is someone who is friends with the one i used to fancy in school and the funny part is that he is the one i'm in touch with and not the one i used to fancy. Well that person is trash but this one is not.

Dark Clouds That Heal

on a little evening walk

lost in my thoughts

wondering what others are up to

while i'm left behind,

crushed with my own thoughts

the sky turned dark

cool breeze begins to flow

peacocks are singing

trees are dancing

clouds are weeping

i'm completely soaked,

not moving at all

dark clouds that heal

i want to drown

to come out alive

About- I was inspired to write this poem based on what is exactly mentioned in the poem like i was soaked in rain when i was running because i was lost in my own thoughts. It is one of the poem that reflects my depressive period.

Grand Plan of Escaping

on my desk

lays a plan grand

to escape from my town

and live in the valley

waking up to the sound of birds chirping

ending my day with a walk in the evening

at night, sipping tea by the fire

to falling asleep in the arms of my lover

i’ll watch, “trees shedding a part of them in fall”

i’ll watch, fog cover my ground”

i’ll watch, “rain pouring down”

i’ll watch, “green take over again”

and

i’ll watch my inner child heal

words from them won’t hurt anymore

looks from them won’t scare anymore

scars from them will stitch up this time

and they won’t be there anymore

About- have you ever felt like you don't fit in a certain group of peoples or feels like nothing seems to work out for you and everything is so torturous that you feel like dying? then this is just the poem you need to read that is my escape plan.

Whispers to September

dear september,

tell me, “you’ll be fine”

tell me, “you won’t bleed”

tell me, “your eyes won’t rain”

tell me, “your wounds will heal”

tell me, “you won’t be sad”

tell me, “this month won’t be same”

tell me, “it’s the happiest you’ll be”

tell me, “someone will love you”

tell me, “words won’t be shot at me”

tell me, “memories won’t haunt you”

tell me, “this time will be different”

tell me, “you will make memories”

tell me, “you won’t be deserted”

tell me, “ you won’t be depressed”

tell me, “you’ll be at peace and free”

About- It's not just a poem but a plea from September that i wish to be happy.

Flowers at My Funeral

on a ship wandering on seas
a sea of peoples seeking for peace
i asked them,
“if the ship went down, which flower should they use at my funeral?”
he said lotus
but I said lavender
she said peony
but I said sunflower
out of the crowd someone screamed out,
“use a bouquet”
i asked ‘why?’
he rephrased it and said,
“idiot they all mean recovering and peace”

This poem is about seeking peace through all the chaos in your life and to me it can only be achieved with death.

Euphonious Summer Evening

Walking back home, I take my time

To feel that summer evening

The birds returning to their nests

The sun is glowing red

And the night is one step ahead

The sun’s beautiful reflection in the pond

And the cold breeze that hit me and down to my soul

I stand there in peace and hear the voices of crickets

The serenity I feel in the euphonious tracks of nature

Walking back home, I take my time to

Feel that summer evening

About- In the tranquil of summer's evening, where each breeze and euphonious voice tells a story of peace, and this poem is one of the reflections through this poet's lens. I believe it is to your like.

Solace Seeker

This poem is about a character who is confronting his demons. This poem is about accepting something about yourself which you find it hard to believe and then just moving on in life, without adding its weight on your shoulders. I have also written a song about this, which goes into more details about this poem's idea.

darkness dark the dark storm
my solace disappeared in that storm
one, two, three, I counted days and nights
lavish emotions, I cannot afford to feel
cactus grew out instead of rose
rush of emotions, I never felt before
my thousand white tulips,
turned to a thousand red rose
clouds cleared and baby blue sky
in aeon, I felt at ease in that storm,
i fought my fear and my ghosts

Lakeside Summer Serenity

I wrote this poem while romanticizing the summer at a time heat was already killing me.This poem screams an ideal summer to me and it is certainly not that deep because why are you even here? Go to a nearby lake and read my poetry.

dear gentle reader’s, go out and have fun
the summer is here, go visit a bookstore
feel the zephyr as it touches your face
when sun is up high and
swan’s playful game in the lake
sit by the lake with poetry in one hand
watch ladybug climb up your hand
lay down your head on the green grass
watch the paintings that tree shadow paints
forget your tiring efforts, make new memories

Happiness in Goodbye

standing on a cliff, waving at the ship
drought hit eyes, a sorrow ending
happiness in goodbye, never destined
lessons learned, pages turned
a new chapter waiting for his return
five steps back and five steps forward
amorous story and re-emergence

About this poem

This poem details one of the most important thing to do which is moving on from something that you can't have whether its a person or a dream you always wished and worked for. It is about the sudden realization that struck to this poet when someone he loved left him and the dream to become something he always worked for never came to ripe. Now the author knows what happens in your, there is always a reason behind it and new chapter is waiting.
Update: I thought i knew the meaning of happiness but then a followup happened to this case, where i tried to protect my humanity but miserably failed. I talked about this in my another poem titled "Happiness".
