your ghosts keep you awake at nightyou hate the nights but are forced to be a nyctophilenight is supposed to be an hour of peacebut something burned rises from the ashesgoodbye came as if it’s always by your sideyour eyes rained turning red in painbut like a warrior, you keep that maskhiding the painful truth behind that smileyou see yourself as a grown-up versionalways trying to bring daylight into the darkbut what can you do in daylight with daylightwhen in both hours, demons rule your mindyou carry a dagger stabbed in your heartbut suppress the tears full of guilt and painYou’re a child of the moonLight your own world for once
Child of Moon Awake With Ghosts
This poem is about someone fighting many internal battles, someone with sadness and depression, someone who is haunted by the memories at midnight. This character carries the trauma and guilt with them and don't know how to move on in their life. In my "Shadows Within" poetry series,i detail my own account on depression, anxiety and loneliness.
